The past week has been pretty crazy, what with relocating to Boston (via LA and from Hong Kong), finding an apartment and attending orientation as an incoming first year student at Tufts School of Medicine. Phew. Nevertheless, life continues to bring on more complications. I've yet to find a roommate (gah) and I have to go to NYC this weekend to pack my stuff up and organize it so I can get it shipped over to my Boston apartment. Also, my new apartment is currently more of a shell of an apartment than a fully functioning one. Ie, I do not have a pillow, cutlery or crockery, no microwave, and I'm living off of travel sized shampoo and conditioner. My room is also currently decorated by giant empty cardboard boxes. But anyway, I'm glad things are finally moving forward...
I'll be honest. Earlier this summer, I wasn't really excited to start school. It was more of feeling a sense of relief as well as finality that my destiny had finally arrived. But today I attended a pot luck dinner with fellow students and even though it started off a bit shaky, by the end of it I was feeling like I was connecting. That it wasn't just about finally getting here after three long years but about going to a new stage in life. I'm a little slow on the uptake, I know.
Anyway, I hope as the summer comes to a close you are all going where you want to be and feeling up to the challenge of facing what's still to come.
