Hey folks,
The past week has been pretty crazy, what with relocating to New England (via LA and from Hong Kong), finding an apartment and attending orientation as an incoming first year student at medical school. Phew. Nevertheless, life continues to bring on more complications. I've yet to find a roommate (gah) and I have to go to NYC this weekend to pack my stuff up and organize it so I can get it shipped over to my new apartment. Also, my new apartment is currently more of a shell of an apartment than a fully functioning one. Ie, I do not have a pillow, cutlery or crockery, no microwave, and I'm living off of travel sized shampoo and conditioner. My room is also currently decorated by giant empty cardboard boxes. But anyway, I'm glad things are finally moving forward...
I'll be honest. Earlier this summer, I wasn't really excited to start school. It was more of feeling a sense of relief as well as finality that my destiny had finally arrived. But today I attended a pot luck dinner with fellow students and even though it started off a bit shaky, by the end of it I was feeling like I was connecting. That it wasn't just about finally getting here after three long years but about going to a new stage in life. I'm a little slow on the uptake, I know.
Anyway, I hope as the summer comes to a close you are all going where you want to be and feeling up to the challenge of facing what's still to come.

Today one of my first DD suggestions was featured! Here it is for all you curious folks:

Honestly I think it is really quite beautiful and nostalgic, and I look forward to more of the artist's paintings. On a more personal note, besides photography, digital painting is probably my favorite medium of art. Part of this probably stems from the fact that I absolutely cannot paint for my life and I am actually very jealous of these fabulous artists. *wistful sigh* Anyway, getting a DD suggestion through has got me all excited because it's my first non-submission contribution to dA since I joined. I'll probably start browsin
spring break
Hello all,
I hope you've all been well. Sorry for the MIA. I am back now from... wherever I was. The weather is warming up and I have shoots in the works. Thanks for sticking around if you're reading this.
In terms of medical school, I have officially been accepted to Case Western (Cleveland) and Tufts (Boston). Both are wonderful schools but everyone has been making me lean towards Tufts because of the weather and more urban lifestyle. I am still undecided, and will probably wait to make my decision based on financial aid and a few other factors. I am also waitlisted at Columbia (New York) and Dartmouth (New Hampshire), as well as UC Irvin
update
So... random news for anyone who still cares. After 2.5 years of applying, I'm officially in medical school. Case Western Reserve, to be precise. I still have a few more interviews so I may end up having options, but still! I am excited. And nervous. And excited.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.
waitlisted shit
Argghhh bleep this waitlist shit. Albert Einstein School of Medicine FINALLY got back and decided that they want to waitlist me. GREAT. THANKS for putting me through HELL only to put me through MORE HELL. Anyway, I guess one of the best things about being a pessimist is that you generally get pleasantly surprised. I think I'm still going to forge ahead with my next application just in case. Nevertheless, how awesome would it be to FINALLY get in?
FYI Scene I will be revamped. I have started putting the story together in my head. Should be fun... if I can get this application essay done first...

Good luck with school, both in your academics and the people-aspect of it. Relocating like that takes a lot of hutzpah to begin with, so I'm sure you'll do fine.
